Hey guys, I use the search tool a lot, so there's been no reason to post much. I figured I better introduce myself as I've really been wanting to do a engine swap with my little 1992 2wd pickup. Will probably be asking lots of questions to other members that have "been there, done that".

I've owned my little truck since May 1997, and now it's got 286k on the little 5spd 22RE. Still running good, but I've got a hankering to put a V8 in it. I'm struggling with the 1uz or 5.3 options. The 1jz/2jz swap might be too $$? I know any swap will cost 3 times what I'm budgeting. I'm lucky as I've got another truck I can drive while I work on my little 92. Just trying to figure which engine would be best. As with most folks, I would like to have my cake and eat it too when it comes to Horsepower vs $$.
