Looking to wire in an electric fan 12-13amp. I want it wired to switched power. Where can I tap in to switch power under the hood with a relay?

Don't spice into an existing power supply, eclectic fans draw a lot & you will have problems!!!

I run a Spal electric 16'' blade fan & use a fan controller from Centech , a FC-2PG, & wired in a rocker switch to over ride the controller when in traffic.
I have the controller very close to the battery in the cab & the fuse is very close, with a 10 ga. power feed wire going to the engine bay & the fan!!

Hes going to run a relay. Should be fine to tap an existing power source.

So you think its ok to tap power off the ignition coil with a relay? As long as the key is on I want the fan on. I am not going to use a temp controller. Fan will always be on full blast when the truck is running.

Thats honestly the first wire i thought of. There has to be another switched source under there.

idk how having the fan going at all times will affect the engine

I used to run 2 electric fans on my 3tc and 4agze motors in my corollas in the past. They where connected on switched 12v and always on with no issues. Its always hot down here and we barley have winter for like a week.
