I went into ToyoDIY.com and plugged in my vin and it didn't give me the info I needed. It's a 93 5 speed standard cab. The weight says 5999 lbs. on the sticker but no info again.
^ that I don't know about. RN25 would be chassis codes for a 70s truck I think. I have an RN28, shortbeds are RN22/23. Easiest way seems to be count the leafs in the rear pack. 3 for half ton, 6 for 1 ton. Also, the sticker on the tailgate that says "1 ton" is a good giveaway
Yeah I'm getting confusing answers so best bet count the leafs.Too many variations but your RN code is what you are looking for and go from there.
Gross weight Gvw 6000, pounds fully loaded gas all fluids and passengers and recommended payload Just in case your wondering if they maid a 3 ton yota it's a highway safety standard way of measuring vehicle class weight
yeah tell me about it. The tire store would not sell me low profile tires because my truck weighs too much. I laughed at him and said are you serious? So it had three leaf springs (now it has 2, lol) so it's a 1/2 ton.
Dang really . I would think there'd rather have the money than worry about you somehow blowing a tire out ..... If you suspect all the tire shops are gonna give you the run around ..take your rims off then take them there tell them it's for a Honda civic or a light car if they ask ...... ..most rim shops love when you bring loose rims in save them time of removal and install ...quick cash and out the door
I guess it's a liability. They say that lawyers are putting out ads saying if you have low profile tires and had a blow out they could sue the company that sold them. I will buy rims and tires without my truck then throw them on.
I usually do that so the guys don't mess up my lug nuts. Either going too tight or too loose. I either throw another set on or throw them in the back of the Lexus and go to the tire shop. Last time they asked what kind of Cadillac I had, I said hilux. Haha. I have CTS 17s.
