Anyone had this issue? I flipped the lower ball joint, picked up a set of 2007 Explorer 17x7.5 steel wheels. The inner lip is hitting the zerk fitting on the upper ball joint.

youre supposed to "flip" both BJs.

If that doesnt work then run some spacers. Post up a pic if you can

From what I have read, flipping the upper is not necessary

i personally flipped both running on 15s with no issues... and i'm pretty sure it's suppose to be both that r flipped. kinda odd not to flip both. but just my $0.02

in my head it might make a difference in your application. Itl change the angle of the UCA and possibly clear the zerk.

Just doing the lower pushed the UCA up by that much possibly the cause of this, because im pretty sure plenty of guys on here have ran 17s and not had this issue, its usually with smaller wheels so something is up with how you got it set up.

    Just my opinion here.

And in my head if the upper ball joint is touching the rim. It will always touch if the upper ball joint is flipped or not. The upper control arm changes position but ball joint is the same distance from center of hub to the lip of the rim.
I had the same problem with rims a while back. Used spacers to clear upper ball joint.

Remove the zerk and put small bolt(same length/thread pitch) in its place.. Thats how mine r atm..i will be installing zerks once i get the truck back on the road..well thats if its only just touching the zerk. Do post a pic up so we can help further..

This is the route I'm going. Picked up a pair after work today. This was my initial fix, but wanted to see what other had done.
