What does everyone do with their door speakers? I have a head unit mounted under the dash to keep from cutting up the dash but where do I mount the speakers? I have what I believe to be the original uncut door cards and don't want to cut holes in the doors themselves.

Ideas and pictures are much appreciated.

Mine came with holes already cut in the doors just under the door panel and a cheap radio in the dash... I just upgraded to better stuff.

Mine are placed in the kick panels. Cons= kick panel means they get kicked, & you have lost foot space.

Do you have pictures of the way they are placed in the kick panels? I would like to either make a set of door panels to mount them in or find someone with an old set of stock ones that I could use instead of my nice ones.

    Hope the picture is above.

These are from Q-logic, If your capable of making ones out of the original panels I would suggest that. When the door shuts it keeps the panel sealed and so the speakers sound better. If you open your doors to play some sounds, the panel moves & the sound isn't so crisp. So with the original panels you would have that lip around the edge. Just my opinion.

My truck doesn't have interior panels, it is a 1973.

I think I may try to make some new door panels, I don't want to cut up my doors or the stock panels, plus I don't think there is enough room in the floor board area of my truck for speaker pods.

My 75 has 3” or 4” speakers under the seat in what I believe to be factory plastic boxes. Maybe you could check the yards and see if anyone has them. That way you don't have to worry about cutting anything up. And for forty year old 5 watt speakers they put out a surprisingly decent sound lol.

None of the yards close to me have anything for my truck, I've looked.
