Hi members new to this forum, recently replaced motor in my 80 model sr5 2wd lux and upon doing so misplaced where one of the wires coming out of the main wiring harness that run down along the right hand side above the battery, connects back up to.Now appear to be having problems with over charging. This wire from wiring harness is a yellowish colour and can be unplugged, but also has some small round cylinder like condenser attached just after it plugs into the wire harness, then there is a fair length of wire after this cylinder to join to what i am not sure of.Advice needed.

over charging ,to high of a out put from alternator, probably brunt out the diodes/regulator in the alternator!
Get it tested & you can get it rebuilt,& if you do have the heavy duty parts used!

Alternator is brand new and the old one was working perfectly also ,so tried it as well and had the same results.
