According to Chiltons, the 84 has a basic electronic control module for emissions, even on the carb models. I'm wanting to (eventually) do an engine swap for a 20/22r hybrid w/a Weber carb, clean up the under hood area, and simplify the operations of said engine...basically reduce the connections to fuel, spark water temp, oil pressure and charging circuits. What I want to know is just HOW INTEGRATED is the emissions computer thing-a-ma-bob with the rest of the chassis electrical, and will I start messing with normally unrelated circuits if I just rip the blasted thing out?
rip it out...it only controls the carb and stuff you will be taking off when you get rid of the carb...
