In the process of finding rims, since im cheap im looking for used rims, What I need to know is what 5-lug vehicles are compadible with toyotas,
There are quite a few that do, a couple fo things to keep in mind. Just because the lug spacing is the same, doesnt mean itll fit, you have to consider hub sizing & offset as well. Also, remember 5 x 4.5 will fit to. Ill dig up some exact vehicle patterns to look for . . .
Crown Victoria wheels fit.. if you can find the 16" BBS style mesh that come on them, get em.. nice lip on them.. the look like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/93-9...022QQitemZ350071409304QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V
The bolt circle is 4.5", same as used on Fords and Mopars. Backspacing is going to be key along with width. As an example I bought my 74 HiLux with 15x7 American Racing "Outlaws" wearing 205/70R14 rubber. While they do indeed fit the truck, the diameter is a little larger than stock and the 3.5" backspacing (equals zero offset for a 7" wide rim) pushes the wheels past the fenders a little more than I like-- nice on a mild 4x4, but not for a 2WD-- especially if you want to lower your ride.
I keep seeing 4.5", how is that actually measured, is it across or from bolt to bolt, Thanks for the quick responses
your welcome & try this . . . Its hella easy . . . Hey your very welcome man, we are a large group of enthusiasts hell bent on helping other members pimp out their rides and show them off. Check out this site, I personally have used it alote. . . https://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html
When you install 2" drop spindles it centers the spindle between the upper & lower ball joints. This will allow you to run wheels with tons of back spacing & clear the upper control arm. FWD wheels are great for having tons of back spacing & tuck nicely in the wheel wells. The wheels I had, 17x7s with 45mm offset, on my 86 Toyota were for a 95 Mitsubishi Diamante tucked nicely under my 2WD fenders.
One of the most common swaps is the newer 5 lug Mustang wheels on the Toyotas. They look great and Ford makes them in 16's, 17's, 18's(on some GT's and Cobras), and a few special models actually come with 20's (I believe it's the Shelby GT with the glass roof. I have my eye on some 18" cobra wheels right now in fact. I can take the Ford emblem off of the center cap and most folks won't know the difference. Any lug measurement is measured from 2 lugs farthest away from one another no matter how many lugs the wheel has.
you know I do really like the look of a TOY with american style racing rims, Ive been eyeballin' standard black D-Rims like they run in Nascar, The LOOK is BOOTLEGGIN'
Thats hardcore, however buffed and polished with some LP's that thing would look badass sliding down the road
