So I've been toying with the idea of lifting my truck instead of lowering it. Mt buddy (a vw guy) told be that I could use the 4runner front knuckles fro 90 up on my 91 and swap axle housing to a 4x4 and it'd be about stock 4x4 height. Any truth to this?

I do not believe so. If I recall the torsion bars on a 4wd mount to the upper control arm. And on the 2wd obviously the lower ones

Only options other than an LT kit, unfortunately are lift spindles. which are increasingly more and more difficult to find... Hell even on RDC | Off-Road Racing Classifieds (Where I got everything for my truck) I couldn't find anything... Best bet is keep an eye out at Marlin, dezert-rangers, ebay, etc. and keep those fingers crossed. Or find someone to fab some up for you.
