I have a 1991 toyota pickup Reg cab 4x4. Now i pot pulled over in the state of P.A saying my truck has to have a back bumper.. Did Toyota sell this truck with out a back bumper ? in any case do i have to have a bumper or not ? i just wanna win one over on the cops
Have the dealer check your VIN. Some came with a bumper and some didnt. If it came that way from the factory youl probably win. As long as you have proof
I would think that all 4x4s came with bumpers. I think even if they sold it new without a bumper you not only would have to prove that but also that it was baught in P.A in 91 (prior to the passing of said law) If worse comes to worse get yourself some 3' pipe and some flat peices and weld up a simple bumper for cheap.
iNever knew trucks were sold with no back bumper before iCame to this site. i've heard about people in hawaii gettin tickets for no back bumper or no tailgate also. well good luck with fighting the ticket. if anything just say u were gonna get one on payday haha
yah my model did not come with a back bumper infact there isnt even holes to bolt one to. Its like a mini factory indented rollpan kinda. I seen this posted by another user quite a while ago and looked into it and according to Toyota's main service dept question line it was an option but since most states require them they were put on at dealership so Im guessing if PA has the law either your truck is not original to PA or someone took it off. Idaho has a law but if it was a factory option they let it slide.
