I looked under my truck again today and the ujoint is slowly shredding up. I can't find the proper u joint online and of high quality.

what do you consider high quality?

how much does the dealer want? i've called some dealers that were advertising online and they priced match me from other websites..maybe give that a try.

Factory is best. If you buy one at a standard parts house you will be replacing it soon.

you should see the options we had for a chevy (same joint for 9/10 of rwd vehicles for 30-40 years) where I worked. just as many. comes down to greasable or not, heavy duty or not, and which catalog version. pick one and go, there is no one right answer. plus some of the mfrs go into too much detail and contradict themselves, like federated part #387: it says except for every option and for every option of cab, bed, and drive. That one sucks.

next item: I assume from the extended cab you have a 2 pc driveshaft? it may or may not matter but they have different diagrams:

Means you're looking for diagram B.

next item: inside or outside clips. does it have circlips visible on the outer part of the U joint? if not, it has inside clips. all the B diagram joints are inside clips so I guess that's what you have?

    for your truck
    Precision 287 (non-greasable)
    precision 387 (greasable)
    Precision 285 (greasable super strength)
    ACdelco 45U0116 (greasable)
