First winder work was to remove my front bumper, strip it to bare metal & do some repair to the bottom edge. Have to straighten & reinforce it . Brazing up some small pin holes I found & than repaint it.
Well thinking of upper & lower grill changes, I've had the billet grills forever. Have this perforated metal sheet, so just mocked up the lower & ran a stripping disk over it ,than can clear coat it or get stainless ,but is $$$
I like it also, seems a lot want me to keep the billet bars. Will depend on how the upper will mock up, as I want to /have to keep the mounting I made for it.
Got the base coat ,clear coat , clear with red pearl , & more clear oat shoot on the front end parts. Next I'll be shooting a protective covering, Crystal Clear 2K over all these parts
Looks real good! I like the perforated mesh a much as the bars you had before. Will the mesh get painted? I kinda wish the upper and lower grilles matched profiles better. Upper grille squared corners vs bumper grille rounded corners
I polished out the perforated metal than clear coated it,it will get a few coats of the clear prodective coating also. The shape of the metal matches the openings it goes into ,the bottom piece sits behind the opening while the top sits into the opening. I kept the same mounts so can go back to the billet inserts if wanted to!
Reversible- I like it! Did you acquire mesh like that at a metal supply or through a company that sells mesh for grilles?
Got a large sheet from a neighbor, I did call a supplier to get a piece on same hole size for stainless so would polish out much better,$370. Too much, so just polished this steel out & sealed.
