OK so I've got everything I need to drop the hilux on its @as (well statically anyway) belltech drop leafs and spindles and 4" blocks did a b/j flip and going to do a mini step notch I just don't know if kyb monomax shocks will be short enough or if I'll have to either find shorter shocks or relocate the shock mounting brackets? Ps if there's any way to go even lower let me know!! Thanks

shocks come in all sizes. find a car that has the extended and compressed measurements you want and order what you find. i use mr2 shocks on mine, you may run beetle or pinto. only you know.

OK thank you for the info. I don't have a lot of experience in the shock area. I'll do some checking around. What year mr2 shocks do u use? I'm just trying to keep from bottoming out the shocks when I crank the torsion bars down.

Monroe has an excellent downloadable PDF data sheet of all the shocks and struts they manufacture. Doesn't cover valving or anything like that, just dimensions. You can load it all into excel to make it sortable and searchable... filter by attachment on both ends, then sort by size, scroll to what you're looking for and search on an auto parts store site to find what it fits, sort of judgement call on firmness but I'm happy with the results. of course you can then cross to whichever brand you like.

Weeeellllllll I'm preeeeetttyyy sure you want the 1969 Camaro V8 front shocks. KYB gas-a-just. That's what I used and they kicked some serious butt. They were really stiff and they fit well (had to enlarge the bottom holes on the shock slightly). I suggest you adjust your torsion bars to sit a little bit lower. I assume you know how to do that.

Thanks for all the info guys! It really helps! I wanted to let u guys know than 97-2004 Dakota and 99-03 Durango front shocks will fit perfectly with no mods and they're 1"-1.5" shorter than the Toyota shocks! U might already know but just figured I'd throw it out there
