the local PAP just got a fresh '90 4runner and i was wondering if i could use the carpet out of it. if i was to take the carpet and slice it a few inches aft of the back seat mounts would it fit in my std cab? thanks in advance!
th simple answer is yes. i did it and all i did was cut where needed behine. the seats. the on downn side is there will be a hole from the console and a larger shifter hole. but if you use the console it will hide it all.
Thats a good tip to know. Does the newer carpet fit the older floors? I already carpeted my 78 but the info is always handy
It should, But I'm just guessing. As long as its the same width or slightly wider and the front to rear length is the same or longer, it's should have the general shape.. The only thing that seems like it should matter besides length and width is if its premolded for the trans and driveline hump.. Just my thoughts..
stockinteriors.com has premolded carpet for 73-95 trucks. it's pretty cheap in my opinion for a brand new carpet and you get to pick the color. a bunch of my friends have bought from them and haven't had any issues.
i Went to a carpet supply place and got about a yard of black carpet. and about 2 yards of the foam jute pad. Laid down 3 layers of pad. Used the layers in patches to level the floors shape. It absorbed lots of the noise. Makes me wish I insulated my doors and back cab wall. I foam filled the b pillar and rockers tho.
