I am curious in putting fiberglass fender flares on the front and back of my toyota off of a trophy truck but lowering it and putting wide dish rims on it. Here would be the fender flares:

Here would be the look I would be going for:

Do you think that this would look alright or would it look ridiculous like all the rest of the people that try to hard and end up destroying the car? I need a good artist to draw it for me.

Haha, I made the suggestion back in October to someone wanting to tuck wide wheels by using pre-runner fenders and was laughed at...now its a "GREAT idea".

I think I remember seeing a Tacoma with fiberglass flares that was bagged on pretty big wheels.

It was on SSM somewhere, owner profile or something. Was pretty rough if I remember. Think he had 22s without a lot of backspace. I think it could look good if done with the right fenders, but his where the type where the wheel well was at about the top of the hood. It looked weird to me because it barely tucked a 22, and the bed was just pulled out to clear the wheels, not fiberglass.

There is a widebody Tacoma on the custom tacos site. He used boatec glass. Clean and simple setup. Definitely one of my favorites.

I've talked about this so much.... 4wd fenders and your choice of fender flares.

    that's JUST budget.

now if you wanna go all the way, get the fiberglass fenders that are FCKN flared.

    trucks are easy dude.

i think it would look terrible with those fenders. they have huge openings that are big even for a 30 something inch tire. put a 18 under it and it'll look goofy. the Porsche looks great because the flare fits the wheel/tire so nice.

now if they were fabricated like Sean said he wants to do, and made to fit the wheel tire combo, i could see it looking awesome! lol

Yeah i agree that is would look ridiculous with the fender flares for a baja but if you i did it i would like to fabricate it to look more like the Porsche. I was thinking about learning to do fiberglass this year. I have a friend that does it so there might be a chance i do something. I would also like to lose some of the weight so i thought about fiberglass anyways.

You just need to find glass that has bulge but no lift - so stock sized wheel openings. That's what ModTaco and CharlieQ did on Customtacos. Mod did the fenders and bed flares, and Charlie just did the bed flares all from Boatec.
