My '76 came with three hubcaps. I'm looking for the fourth hubcap to complete my stock wheel look. I figured that since many of you have upgraded to aftermarket wheels for your builds, you probably have a pile of the original equipment laying around. I really only need one, but if you want to part with your set as a whole, it wouldn't hurt me to have a few extra laying around. Message me if you are interested in selling your '76-'78 era hubcaps! Thanks!
Nevermind! I just took delivery of a set of 3 fine used hubcaps from another TM member. Thanks y'all.
Haha ya, our trucks do appear related, eh? My truck definitely looks up to yours, though. I'll try to have a little photo sesh later today and post em up here. I want to take them off and polish them up soon, and clean+spray the wheels black to give it a clean, classic look. Can't decide if I want the black to be matte or glossy... I'm open to suggestions.
I would pick a different color. I used to do bronze with the chrome caps and liked that. And I think everybody looks down to me, not up.
Ya, I've seen some bronze treatments on here and they do look pretty sweet. I'll have to give it some thought. I posted a pic of the current look in my build thread, 100% matte body and all: http://www.toyotaminis.com/forum/build-up-project-threads-21/76-hilux-fishin-truck-16292/index2.html#post175845
i have some bomb can from the parts store "meant for wheels" so they say. has a picture of a rim on it is all i remember lol. i used the medium bronze. they have a gold tone too, but i havent tried it. ill find the can later and get the name off of it.
Cool. I appreciate that. Bronze may be the way I go with them after all. I know that I definitely need to use some serious automotive style paint and "meant for wheels" sounds just about right.
For me $5 a can sounds right. Way cheaper than takin them in for paint. It's just steelies on an old truck after all.
