I went out and looked at a 5 speed tranny that is still in an 81 toyota truck. The slave cylinder was on the passenger side and the bolt pattern on the bell housing looked to be a 22r. The owner said that he had pulled a 22r from the truck and that he didn't know anything about the tranny. It was obvious, that this tranny didn't come with the truck due to the jerry rigged shifter boot and floor opening. Unfortunately, I was unable to get a pic, but when you look through the floor opening, the shifter was mounted on the side of the tranny with linkage going forward to shift the gears. Any idea what this might be? I tried to figure it out by looking around, but all of the toyota trannys I looked at were top loaders. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Trey
