Alright guys I really need some longer wheel studs so I can put my new wheels on. So does anyone know where I can get some or if another year had longer studs that I could use?
Should be able to get some at your local auto store. Just tel them the length, threap pitch, and diameter of the stud and they should be able to help you!
I know thread is 12mm x 1.5 What wheels are you trying to run? Perhaps you need the longer shanked lug nuts instead of a longer stud?
The wheels im using have a tappered hole in them for the lugs and even when I get a tappered lug nut I can only get 2 or 3 threads started so thats my problem.
I had to get 1/4" longer studs for my 88 2wd @ the front when I installed Wilwood rotors. Got them from S.P. Auto, a local auto shop. Part #DOR 610-265, $2.09 EA. Stock ones were 37mm long. A Napa store should be able to cross referance this part number, don't know the manufacture.
These are the measurements for the 1/4" longer stud Thread 12mm Thread length 32mm Thread pitch 1.5mm length from sit to end 40mm knurled area od 14.27mm made by Dorman /part # 610-265 265 w - 10.9 is stamped on the end Hope this helps!
http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com/performance_parts/index.html?item=1126 I found these. Think they'll work? All the parts stores around here won't even bother looking for studs for me.
Check for the older Land Cruisers, they are what the Old school (RWD) Corolla guys use when racing. Take out one of you exsisting studs, or pull one from a wrecked truck to verify if they will fit right (Knurl area-the threadpitch is right).
Just throwing this out there... Is it possible that the center hole on the rim you are trying to put on is too small to fit over the center hub?
It figures, I just found the site 2 days ago, rehashing old threads... BTW my steel 17x7 Chrysler steel wheels (300M) fit no problem with 7/16" spacers on stock studs, the alloy wheels I just picked up have a thicker mounting flange thus maxing out the stud length-so no spacers with the alloys... I need to get real spacers so I can fill my fender flares... Bad pic, but it current. Shawn K Covington, WA
