So I need a little more turning space. I'm going to run a 5x4.5 to 5x4.5 1in to 1.5 in spacer. My question is, if the center bore on the spacer is a littler bigger than 60.1 is it going to cause any problems? Thanks!
Hub-Centric vs. "Lug-Centric" is a debate that pops up all the time on just about any car forum and is never resolved to an end either way. Some people believe wheels and spacers must be hub centric or the wheels will fall off or some other catastrophe will happen. These people point to OEM wheels which are most often hub centric as proof of this concept. Then there are those who believe the lugs are what centers the wheels, not the hub. I happen to be one of those. Even "hub centric" OEM wheels are so loose on the hub that IMO the hub provides no centering effect except during manufacturing as a convenient way to hold the wheel until the lugs are torqued. My "proof" is that if you torque down any wheel, you will be able to slip something thin, like paper thin, in between the hub and the hub bore. IMO hub centricity is only important for 2 things: 1. German cars that use lug bolts rather than studs/lug nuts and even then only as a convenient way to hold the wheel until all the bolts are started and 2. When you are on the side of the road and are changing a flat and you have no jack and have to lever a wheel on to the hub. Aftermarket wheel companies will tout hub-centricity of their wheels (if they are) or push you to buy "hub centering rings" for their wheels. Ironically, most of them are just cheap plastic which no way whatsoever would hold up the weight of the car on the hubs without lug nuts. So whichever response you get, "you're gonna kill yourself if they aren't hub centric", or, "doesn't really matter", you're going to have to decide for yourself in the end.
Ok so I am on the same page with you! So if I run a lager bore on the spacer it's not going to cause problems because the lugs will line up and they are in the center! Imo!
I'm running 1" spacers on my truck. They have been fine so far no problems. Only using it cause of the rims I'm running. I wouldnt get anything bigger than 1.5"
