lastnight driving back from a car meet i realized my truck has a pretty crappy ride lol and ive always liked bagged trucks. Is it alot of work ? how much are we talking about to get it all done?pros and cons. i cant make up my mind little help
Here is my opportunity to ask what the term "bagging" even refers to.......I have a general idea, but would like to hear more. I'm an old guy that likes stock trucks, so forgive me. When I bought my xB in 2006 I had this same problem on Scion websites...what the hell are these guys talking about?
Air ride. Airbags. Like the big rig trucks have. It definetly has a nice ride. The bigger the bag the nicer the ride I believe. But you have to get it done right or it can turn into a disaster.
if done correctly with shocks it can ride amazing. It is a bit of work, makes it a lot easier if you can weld. usually for all the parts needed you could be looking from 1200-3000 depending on what you want, # of compressors and valves, accuair kits, theres a bunch of ways to go. but if ur lookin for a good ride id run 8 valves
1) Low trucks & cars look better & handle better. 2) If static dropped ( and most of us start there) you run into the problem of bottoming out often on driveways & speed bumps, so a adjustable suspension is the answer. 3) Air ride can be is done in a great number of ways, but I recommend you do a lot of research,& do it correctly & use quality parts ( not household pluming pipe or fittings)! 4) I have been running a bag set up with 8 valves & a electronically controlled system & shocks, for 7 years now, no problems, handling & ride quality are very good. I drive my truck a few times a week, & hundreds of miles to shows!
Awesome. What do u think about just baggin just the rear. I hve this front lip on the front of my truck and I love the look but if I. Bag the front I would most likely have to get rid of it cus now it sits about 2 1/2 in off the ground. Or ahould I just notch the frame so I have a bit more clearance and buy air shocks
You can just bag the rear. I did the rear before the front! You will have to install a notch, not just a c- cut into the frame,a full notch . I recommend a 8 piece unit as you can weld the inside of of the plates! And you will be removing all the spring set up ( also clean the frame up,removing all the mounts)! You will have to install a link set up ( 2,3 4 ) ,again I recommend a forward set up as that is the right way to do this!! This means relocating the gas tank ,or running a cell .I run a forward Tri - link set up & a custom stainless tank. Relocate the shocks & install mounts. As you can see this all involves a lot of planing & work! But it is will worth it when all is done!
