What is wrong with my camber????

    I was messing with my camber today and I threw the shims on one side and it cambered it just how I wanted it. I went to the passenger side and noticed that there were already a bunch of shims there. I put some more shims on until I couldn't fit anymore and it is still not as cambered as the driver side. Keep in mind I can still fit more on the driver side!! The passenger is maxed and it has LESS camber. I do understand that it's on blocks of wood, but I would imagine that the camber would still be there.

    Theres probably another issue that at some point was addressed by adding shims rather than actually fixing the problem.

    Why do you want camber??
    When dropping a truck or car you should use dropped spindles so to keep the stock geometry! Keeping the tire patch square to the road!!:cool:

    i agree with him camber isnt cool i have old vws an i lower them were i dont have it an the tuner cars by crap to have it i dont under stand

    Camber, while not being ideal for "keeping the contact patch square to the road", does look good in my book. Some camber will actually keep the contact patch "squarer" to the road during cornering.

    As far as why there is such a difference between one side and the other? The chassis was built imperfectly. You'll be hard pressed to find one that is perfect. It's normal, but frustrating when trying to do something like that.

    Make sure you are back on the ground and have moved the truck back and forward a bit to relax any preload from being jacked up.

    Why do you want to lower your vehicle??
    When owning a truck or car you should keep it at the original intended height because that's the way it was designed to work best! Keeping the vehicle at a safe height (stock geometry) for handling and comfortably driving down the road!! :cool:

    (if you can't tell, i'm being sarcastic. everyone has their own opinions on what you should or shouldn't do with your own vehicle)

    Every truck I've ever messed with has always had different shims here and there. Like litneon said, they aren't perfect. It probably came from the factory like that.

    Reply to AspireCycle, lowered trucks look great & if done correctly, static & bagged ,they will handle far better than stock!

    My truck is slammed on bags to lay frame, it is a show truck that I show all summer long ,drive it weekly & to out of state shows!
    Handles great & is very very reliable!
    The bed is set up to carry only what I need @ shows, only thing it hauls is ass!!:cool:

    Did you miss the part where I said I was being sarcastic? I'm sure your truck is set up exactly how you like it. I plan on lowering mine as well, but I was just trying to make a point. :D
