located behind the front wheels.. having problems scraping it.. is removing it gonna help?

 

Its a bolt on bull**** crossmember lol! U can take it off & youll be fine...it was the first thing to go on my truck.

 

Actually it is a chassis stiffener. It prevents the chassis from twisting and mainly prevent rattles and squeaks. You can take it off though, many have done it including myself.

mine got bent with the fire hydrant.. if you dont want it i'll gladly take it haha

 

it does have a purpose. toyota isnt stupid. but taking it off does provide extra clearance. it does prevent certain object shapes from hitting the tranny, but thats usually just small stuff. speed bumps used to snag my 92's pretty hard too. i actually ground off a good amount of it.

 

i need it to prevent my xcab's frame from wanting to flex. lol... i plan to do some autox this upcoming year, so i need one.
