the rear is most likely a ford 8.8 rear end, I think thats what rajzswap (rodney) is using soon.

same pattern and more benefits, also look for disc brakes.

Im been working on a conversion for a while.

    Its a 77 dually 5 lug G code axle,

Im putting 94+ mustang cobra rotors and calipers on it. Specs are 11.65 vented. It looks like its just a matter or cutting off the old backing plate and welding a caliper stand to the tube, but time and money constrain me.

Eventually Ill do the fronts too. Then its a matter of a 15/16 master then, BAM! Stopping machine.

I'll do a build thread when I get around to it

been planning on the ford 8.8 rear for a while myself

95-01 ford explorer or mercury mountaineer
comes with disc brakes and some have posi
    ratios 3:55 3:73 4:10
axle is 59 3/8" hub to hub
has an offset diff 2 3/16 to the passenger side

our axle is 57" hub to hub.... so....

if you get an extra axle and axle tube from a second explorer rear off the short side and swap it onto the long side the axle is now 57 1/2" hub to hub with a centered diff

these go for about $300 in the junkyard and there are a ton of them around...
