So in about 3 hours i finally have my tranny and clutch out of my truck. And with the 7M in there that was no fun task.

But the clutch is shot, and all kind of wierd things. Shouls have put a new clutch in it from the start... Instead of piecing things together.

But its going back together and driving it again!!!!

    Pics to come!!!

    :D

Man you idea about lifting the cab up worked out a huge lot! Still not enough to get the tranny out.. but far enough i could easily unbolt the clutch.

Then there was enough space to slide the tranny out.

    Worked mint!

You can see it in the last 2 pics the clutch has scoring on it and is super worn out!

Always buy new stuff... and if you cant afford it BORROW the money like i should have at the time! Would have saved me all this hassle. Lol

Okie so after waiting 2 weeks for my clutch to come in... i finally have it done and driving around again. The crappy part is i have to wait 500 miles before i can "really" drive it! Lol If you know what i mean!

Any way here are some pics.

i cant wait to get mine in. has anyone done the 1 or 2j swap in a 3rd gen? i would like to know how hard it is cuz the j series are obd2 and our trucks are obd1 i believe. i have realy though about just going and doing a stand alone fuel system but that would be way over my budget
