if u want economy, a 34/34 which is really a solex i had one on my last truck it was alot better over the stock carb,

32/36 would be the best all around

38/38 syncronized if your going to be racing or just like wasting gas

im curious about that 36/36 they came out with but its only availible for manual transmissions only so i probally wont get one. and i got a 32/36 off of craigslist for 50 bux

you can go to webers site, ebay or it may be cheaper to go craigslist, get one and rebuild it if its been sitting

for a stock motor the 32/36 is the way to go even if your motor has some upgrades you can still use the 32/36 with some rejetting

Exactly. Stock or mild setup, run a 32/36. They are plentiful used if you wanna take it apart and clean things. And rejet it if it was on some other type of motor. If you plan to do a high compression, big cam, fire breather...the 32/36 will hold back its potential a bit. Thats where the 38/38 would really shine. Of course theres always side drafts, but I'm a fan of downdraft carbs.

Basically the 32/36 has two ports. A big and a little. The little one is always being used, but the larger side doesn't open until about half throttle. The 38/38 has two larger sized ports that open equal amounts. So it flows more air/fuel overall, but also provides more at lower throttle situations that the 32/36 doesn't. People have gotten great mileage improvements from the progressive one. I have one, but for my motor's current build its not enough. Even with it being rejetted.
