I recently bought a weber 38 from Weber carbs direct and i have a few questions about installing it on my 22r. The instructions says the electric choke requires a key hot 12- volt source. What is a key hot 12- volt source? and what do i use to connect it?
are you sure you are capable of installing this? not trying to be mean, but this does require some basic knowledge. they are just talking about a wire that gets hot with the key on. but thats simple compared to adjusting the carb, you cant just plop it on there. where are you located maybe somebody local can help.
I took a tester like to the "Wires" that were attached to the stock carb with the key turned "ON" (not started) two of the four wires will cause the tester light to "light up" those are called "HOT" wires the other two wires will do nothing,. It's hard to see in the pictures but you can get a idea of what stock carb plugs I am referring to,. Toyotaminis is a great site to come to fill the gaps in your personal knowledge of Toyota's, Take me for example I don't always know what everthing is called or what alot of the little stuff does, but i'm always able to do a good job and finish my projects correctly,. Also don't be to proud to admit if you can't do it and need more experienced help.
ShoNuff I have some basic knowledge but not much about carbs. I just want to learn more by trying to install it myself. If i cant finish it I'll just send it to a shop to finish the job bootleg thanks for the pics. Do I just splice a wire to the old carb connection? If possible can i get a closer picture of the connection to the electric choke
