Recently got a w58 out of a 85 celica and wanted to swap out the 4 speed in my 84 pickup. From my understanding I need to adjust the crossmember mount, maybe cut the cab And cut the driveline? Anybody done this before? Or have any information that could help me along the way? Thanks.

 

Not sure what the 4 speed looks
Like but you can always measure and compare.

If the length of the trans is the same then the driveshaft is fine.

measure mounting surface to trans mount and see where stuff will line up.

 

I changed from a W55 to a W58 in my 88 Extra Cab.
I used the top sifter from my W55 to keep the shifter in the same location
I have a CanDo trans mount cross bar has my truck is on bags

 

I just did this on mine again lol I swapped in a w58 from a celica gts everything was a straight swap over nothing needed to be changed , how ever I am not sure if on the 84 pickups came with different transmission crossmember as the 85 and up
