my yoter is geting a timing chain job, but i thought i could paint my valve cover?
but i had a spare valve cover with the 22r stiker so i thought they were diffrent, becuse the one on the truck has 22re stiker so i put them side by side and their the same. all i could think is that 22r ar carb, and 22re are fuel injected, and i came to dis conclusion because i remembered my dad got the engine from scrap yard but it was carb. and the mechanic said it works. to make story short it worked from carb to feul injected. hes the picks:evil::drool:

    Spraying paint indoors huh?!

Lol, looking very good, I need to do mine something. I will eventually pick up a rag, some denatured alcohol, and get to work!

Good luck with w/e you have next!

to be honest, i dont really remember but i want to say it was a rust-o-leum appliance paint? its an epoxy based paint so its pretty tough and durable. it never faded, and didnt scratch very easy.... it still looked like new just as in the pictures 1 year after i did it.

i think i will be doing the same with my 22R valve cover also. but giving the top parts of the cover a nice deep polish unlike the brushed polish i did with the one in the 4Runner.

i spent like 6 dollars wasing it. i used the carwash engine cleaner u know with high pressure. and then i sanded the entire coner with 3M p320 sand paper, got i at oreily and paint to. so pluged all the holes with raggs then wiped the entire cover with another ragg make sure the covers is clean before u paint!!! look at the page 1 of this page and ull see the cans i used/ good luck
