valve cover nut tightening

    guys the four acorn nuts on the valve cover how tight should i tighten them is their a spec? or something im missing?

    I've always tightend them to a snug point, to loose and it will leak to tight and you'll crack the rubber.

    thanks evol, thats what i did snugged them up just wanted to make sure

    75 hilux, 80 4x4
    i like to tighten them down untill the rubber bulges out even with the metal washer. mostly snug.


    they will last about 2yrs that tight, and wont leak from the cam valleys without silicone.


    may last longer less tight, and using silicone. but to me thats cheating, and i dont want to clean up silicone unless i have to.
