Truck info: 78 toyota with 22re swap from 92 toyota pickup, also swapped the trans, ecu, full chassis harness, gauge cluster, and steering column.

Took the 78 on a drive the other night, and the brake light came on on the dash.
I get home and see that the front drivers side caliper has a small leak. I recently rebuilt both front calipers.

    Now on to my question.
Is there a brake setup that I can swap in with minimal modifications? The braking is not the greatest from the factory.

Do a lot of research you should find someone that has modified the early trucks.
I have done so on my 88, disk front & rear, large rotors & 4 piston Toyota at front, 48 mm single caliper with e-brake at rear! Duel diaphragm booster, larger master, & adjustable proportioning valve.
    Stops very hard & fast!

I've been looking all weekend, but not much luck yet.
I'm hoping someone has the magic formula of parts. Lol

No one from what ive seen over the last 6-7 years of researching has just upgraded the brakes on these trucks other than going from the drums to discs on the early trucks.

i think you should repair everything to function proper and see how it goes. These trucks weigh like 2500lbs, in my opinion they stop failrly well with the stock equipment(when functioning properly)

I've seen guys use newer stuff but evertime it looked hacked together. And none of them are engineers so I don't trust their work.

It's looking like I'm just going to order a set of reman calipers, new pads, and new rotors.
