I am looking to do something simmilar to this setup just with a 4 link. I would like to retain as much of my stock bed, just have the bags and bars on the inside of my chassis. Run 2 slimline fuel cells above the tailshaft that clear the bed. On the bed mount my 5 gallon airtank and 2 Valair 380 or 450 compressors.

    Which is wiser?

Retain my stock RN46 diff 4.88 gear (I think) with 16' toyota split rims?

or hold out for a while

Run a RN85 5 stud diff with MA70 Supra rotors and 17x9 +35 offset rims with a possibility of 20x7s +38 down the track. Then, chop the current front off when I Z the front 1.5 inches and weld in a mid 80/90s IFS with drop spindles and flipped ball joints?

Here is the pic. I could only source the pic from killbillet - C10 chassis.

when i think of underslung i think of the frame going beneath the axle, is that your plan? either way sounds like a matter of personal opinion which route you take with the rear setup.

To me that isn't underslung, my old man has 29 chev that has the frame under the axle. It is just a bags on var setup to me...

Don't think bags in any kind of set up can go to the outside of a Toyota frame!
The body sits tight to the frame!

As for axle over frame( under slung), it is in most cases done for more lift, & as I was quoited!!

Inless you are going to run 20 plus tires, it is not needed!!!!

Yeah, I was going to say that. The frame is wider proportionally than the C10 frame to axle width. You'd have to build a full back half to make it happen.

Or am I wrong? I mean, even if you could build your lowers like the pic, the upper links would still run into the bed floor at stock height.

Thanks for your help guys. I might just run a traditional bags on bar setup. I am only going to run 17's.

That being said, you can still run the bags below the top of the frame. Mine are.

Ya def not an underslung. Most underslungs are on suvs for space reasons. You get a lot LESS lift with an underslung because the axle can only go to the frame which wouldn't be very far on lets say 18s. Run a bag on bar an you should be able to keep everything low enough with minimal cuts to the bed
