I pulled my driveshaft out of my 88 2wd truck this weekend in an attempt to change the U-joint bearings. I pulled all four of the C-clips holding it in and then went to trying to press them out with my shop press...The damn bearings won't budge at all and I'm out of ideas for getting the old ones out. Anyone have any tips?? Also any good ideas for cleaning out the metal gas lines that go from the engine to the gas tank? I"m changing out the tank/pick up tubes/rubber lines and everything else associated with it so I don't want to get trash from the metal lines into my new tank!
Woohoo I got one side out! One of the holes is kind of ovaled so the caps didn't want to move, but after a couple hours of beating the cap that was in the ovaled hole fell off and the other three came right out! Anyone have any tips for getting the one hole round again?
