This will be my first build and I wanted to know exactly the different types of bags. Like specifics not brands. As far as single port and dual port, would the second port be used to run to a dump valve? And what is the difference between 2-ply and 4-ply? What exactly is a ply? Lol. As of now I'm looking at the Airlift Dominator D2600 for front and rear bags because they are on sale on QAR. Will these be a good choice in bags? I will be cantilevering the rear end, I don't know if i matters, but will these bags suit it? Thank you for the help.

i use slams only, best bag IMO. You dont need duel port, thats mostly for hopping. I HATE HATE airlifts, i used ones on my silverado back in the day and the bag deformed so badly i had to throw the fronts away. I dont know about their new ones, but since that experiance i havnt used em since.

remember you do not wanna go cheap on suspension or breaks...or engine...well basically just in general lol

a ply is a layer of material. just like tires.

a light duty tire will have say 2 plys for the side wall, where as a heavy tire for a 1 ton truck can have 8-10 plys.

more plys make it more stiff.

people speak very highly of the slams i'm sure they'd work just fine. i've personally had great success with aim bags, but people will tell you they're junk lol.

i've seen pics of pretty much every brand bag that has failed. the most important thing is to make sure they don't rub on anything.

the slams supposedly don't balloon out when filled, which is a good thing. when trimming the area of the bag keep in mind that almost all other bags balloon (increase their diameter) when filled, so make sure there is plenty of space.

What would be the best size to get in the front? I know I could ball park it pretty easily if I wanted but what has been the best bet in your experience?

most people run a 2500 in the front, and a 2600 in the rear.

    a slam re6 is equivalent to a 2500, re7 is same as a 2600

on my hilux i made it to fit a 2600 in the front, and i lock the suspension with a v-8 at about 75 psi lol

Ya re-6 up front re-7 in rear. I have had slams, contitech, and firestone so far I like slams way more than the rest. They're not as bouncy as the rest I've had

Is the re-6 and re-7 the same height deflated and inflated? I would like to buy just two for now so I can fab everything, then buy the other two bags.

ya all 3 of the slams squish to the same size and have bump stops inside the bag so you dont have to worry about crushing the sidewalls of the bag when you lay it out..

Niceee. Looks like I will be ordering my bags in about a week and getting to work. It says they are 2.9 inches deflated so I will mock up a steel "bag" so I can work on it without a bag flopping around.

Are you doing all the fab work? If so, cup the frame rails and go with RE 7's up front. I went with 6's and will change them to 7's only for the ability to lift with lower pressures.

Slam bags are great, I run them. I've had one bag failure, (my fault) and a couple cosmetic tears, and each time they've shipped new one's out with no problems. Even with the problems, I'd still recommend them...

I also have a set of firestones that are stupid deformed...

ive had great luck out of contitech's.... I would run a 2500 size in the front and cup the frame... mounted as far in as possible it will get around 18" of travel easy on 20's.. thats how I did mine

What exactly do you mean when you say cupping the frame? I was planning on putting a plate in the arm, and pocketing a plate with gussets on top.
