So i broke down today and deicded to give this product a shot, most of my paint job save my front fenders is pretty faded and badly oxidized. did about a third of the hood before running out of light, ill wake up tomorrow and take before and after pictures of the hood, just in case any of you were thinking of trying it. I cant say im dissapointed thusfar, followed with a few layers of wax. Definitely noticable but well see how even it gets and how long it lasts... Pics to come
I used Meguiar's Ultimate Compound for the oxidized parts, clean rag to wipe off residue, and then wax with Meguiar's paste wax. I recommend the extra $20 to get a clay bar and clean up the paint before you wax. Truck will be sexy.
i did use the Meguiars clay set i had from my previous car that i used often... its ridiculous the difference in the finish and feel of the paint that the clay takes off
i dont suppose i should have to tell you which were before and which were after... overall im quite pleased with it, its gonna take forever to do the rest of the truck less the fenders... at any rate a buffing wheel may have progressed the finish a bit more, and i may use one on the rest of the truck.... bottom line, if your paint is in bad shape give it a shot it was $6 for the bottle, and then i layed a few layers of wax over the top... not too shabby This last picture you can see the roof of the truck, and what i have to tackle on the rest of the truck... most of it looks like that lol
Nice, I really need to clay my truck. if you have a good eye and angle... you can see the "dirty-ness" of the paint itself. I'll get to that. as for the roof, that's the toughest part.
Im pretty sure it would as well, its rarining today so i wasnt able to start on the rest of the truck, i may pull it up under the carport to start though
