    OMG...what is going on!?!?!?
So last night my (94, 22r-e, 5 speed, single cab, 4x2) just started to do this last night. Truck will intermittently die when i apply brakes no matter what the speed!

    BUT!!! Only when going forward....Reverse...nada.

So, far we checked for vaccuum leaks...None to be found. (Googled the problem.....most results stated it was a brake vaccuum issue)

Anyone have any ideas or solutions to this???

could be the power booster leaking internally i had a similar problem and replaced the booster and didn't have the problem anymore also replaced the master cylinder while i was at it just to be safe.

Does it die every time or just once in a while? When its cold or after its been running awhile?

I had a similar problem, brakes started to lock up while driving and ended up killing the motor..I had to bleed them to even move the truck..replaced the MC and all was well, yours sounds weird though, there is no electrical connection except the sensor on the MC cap

I would say 7 out of 10 times i can get it to die.....at any speed. But only while going forward. never has it or can i get it to die while in reverse.

    Cold/hot/warm engine makes no difference.

Are you loosing any fluid in your master? Are you burning smoke? I had a leak from my master into my booster and it sent the brake fluid thru my carbs and burned it out thru the exhaust. Freaked me out. Check the check valve in the line coming from the booster. I think your booster has gone out

Found something new about this problem....rolling to a stop sign, push the clutch....put in neutral....apply brake, the truck tries to die.

Now i try rowing through the gears...5, 4, 3, 2, 1, while cruising to a stop, trying to keep the rpms up a bit. stay in 1st until i almost get the truck to jerk. Push in clutch apply brake...all is fine.

Jeez....It keeps geting better. Now the truck will lose power while driving. Not all the time...but it still happens. Not touching the clutch or brake...cruising at 65mph....truck cuts off. I just jump it back on with the clutch. Man O man....am I have a ball with this or what!!!!!
