Trans year interchange

    Found older Toyota with trans, shifter, mounts, crossmember. Just not sureifit will work in my newer truck. What years work with the 89-95

    not 100% but I THINK it should unless you are going from an auto to manual or vice versa. Took the 3 speed auto out of my old 77 and put a 5 speed from a 79 in, had to modify the crossmember because the manual is longer.

    from looking at some pictures it's a 3rd gen truck. I would want to put the trans and cross member, and shifter in my 94 (currently an auto) truck.
    This of course would depend if the trans 1. will fit 2. is a five speed 3. if i could just buy the whole truck really cheap as a doner.

    Another question.... how tough are these transmissions? I'm not really sure of the history on the trans in question. If they're prone to failure or something of the sorts i'd rather not take the chance.
