Anyone have them? To help with the wheel hop. I've found these... http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/LAK20475.htm Will it work with my 2WD?
Sorry I forgot. I could not get the whole side of the truck do to the fact that the sun was right in the camera's lens. But here they are: James
Thanks for posting the pictures. I am on 3" blocks, so the springs are already sitting pretty low to the ground. I wonder if I can still be able to mount these traction bars under it with enough ground clearance....
No they will hit. Mine is low and it is not even lowered. What you can do is go to a metal shop and get some rectangular stock and make your own. Make sure you do not get a really thick gauge metal. I think mine are 3/16" thick steel. Maybe the rectangular stock will give you the clearance but I doubt it. James
Can it be mounted on the top, over the axle? I found these. They are installed on a SVT. Looked like those can be mounted over the axle. In our case, on the top?
No it can't. Your axle is on top of the leaf spring, that one pictured above is below the leaf spring. The only true way to solve this is get a smaller block or you will have to make a link. James
you every changed your shocks? maybe its worn? i had that problem and changed them nevr had it again.
i know but im taking what he said buy wheel hop! maybe i misunderstood what he is asking but i take it as he has no support anywhere on the back so if he was to take off burning rubber tires cant stay down shocks could also be a factor.
no, im sorry to say you are wrong, I changed the shocks on my 89 it has original completley dead !, the new ones lifted the rear 2 whole inches and the front an inch and a half. they are 15 dollar stock ones from advance.
v8titan....really? i two think that shocks have nothing to do with ride height (regular shocks). i mean i just dont see any way a shock can do that. all it does is dampen the rebound effect. a REGULAR shock can not physically lift a vehicle up. the only way a shock could've lifted the truck up is if you put in a bigger shock and that shock is collapsed all the way down..which is a bad thing because it would defeat the purpose of having a shock. i'm not saying your new shocks didnt raise the vehicle up...i'm just saying i cant see how it would..if you could explain i would like to know. as far as traction bars..check out this 9 second toyota pickup and his setup http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75949 its a very cheap(compared to other higher end settings) setup for a very good price..little mods to do and you dont have to go 4 link.
ID love to explain, I hope I dont sound stupid and im not trying to make you look stupid but here is my thoughts. think about this - Old shocks (completley dead) you can push them in and pull them out with your hand. - New shocks, extremly hard to push in, and they go right back out. so obviously if you set something on top of it, its going to push it up. how much weight ? I have no idea. Also to me it seams like its reallllyyy hard to push down on the new shock at first, but once you get it to go in a tiny bit, it gets easier. So when the truck is not in motion maybe it has enough strength to hold it up ? All I know is when I tried putting my new rims on, It SMASHED my fenders. then I added new shocks and they fit perfectly. my new fenders rub on the right side when I make left turns. make sense ?
