My truck is at stock height, but the drivers side sits a bit lower that the pass side, If I adjust it out with the torsion bars will the truck need a new alignment ? How much does a alignment cost if they have to adjust the shims ? Thanks 22R88
Unless your moving the height a substantial amount you shouldn't need alignment. It will never be 'exact'. I've cranked my torsions a few times since the initial drop & alignment job to get a little bit more lower and then even. The steering is still pretty good and tire wear is doing fine. Alignment over there should be like $50, and if they do have to add shims it's like a few bucks material cost and another $60 for labor. Over here in Hawaii they charged me $180 out the door to do alignment and one shim.
Thanks for the replies guys, Yes it would be less than an inch. Now I just have to figure out what nuts/ bolt to turn. Thanks, 22R88
Thanks, I can't see youtube at work but I will watch when I get home. Appreciate the comments Guys !! 22R88
Nice little video......but your truck isn't rusty enough. I'm pretty sure if I tried to adjust mine the pinch bolt would either break off or the head would round off.
do you guys have any idea how much lift i can get from tightening the bars all the way? i've had it slammed for a while now, i'm wanting to do a 2wd lift.
never had them cranked in for lift but, i would imagine you can tighten them to sit at near top out..... in other words, if you lift your truck up with a jack till the wheels come off the ground, i would imagine that to be max height that could be achieved.... the only issue with stock bars getting cranked to that extreme is they will eventually sag... and keep sagging. they are a fairly weak bar to keep that much tension cranked in. you would need to upgrade to sway-a-way's. the 300m's be the best for lift.
