So with wires jumped properly(TE1 to E1) and my distributor advanced as far as it will go, I can only get to about 7* or 8* BTDC. Spec on mine is 5* but i was hoping to run 10* to 12* like some other people have been able too. What am I doing wrong that wont allow me to advance it farther? Thanks!

I gots no truck, for now
Your distributor might be off a tooth. Set it to tdc and pull the cap and make sure the Toyota is pointing right at #1 when you have the distributor in the middle if its adjustment

Yeah already went through all that.....rotor is pointing at #1 on TDC I tried going forward a tooth and backwards a tooth which resulted in very poor running, Its back where it should be and all I can get to is about 7* BTDC. Also I have my idle screw turned all the way in, like pretty much shut and the lowest Idle I can get my truck to run is like 700RPM. Ive heard that my ignitor, air gap, or tps could be partial cause...anyone have advice? Oh and in case anyone didnt know this is a 92 toyota, 22RE, with 224k miles, timing chain is fine also
