Just got finished doing my replacement of timing chain, alone with the water pump and oil pump. Got everything together. Everything seemed to be right. Bright chain link at TDC on cam and at 6 o'clock on crank. For some reason, went to start it sounded like it was turning over, but like not getting spark. Went to recheck timing, was going to put crank back to TDC and found basicly free turning, no compression. Took off valve cover and found the chain broke, I'm thinking WTF!!!   I thought I'd did everything right.

What did I do wrong? Dam I need help bad...

The timing chain is supposed to have 2 bright links. The bright links are supposed to be lined up with the mark on the cam gear and the mark on crank gear. It's pretty much impossible to get it timed wrong. Did you replace the tensioner and the guides? The only thing I can think of is you got it timed up wrong and it in a bind and broke the chain.

It's very possible that you put it on backwards. If you did then that probably caused it to get in a bind and snap the chain.
