I just pickup a 22re long block with 128xxx miles on it. Bought it for a full build in my 92. Motor has never had any machine work done and never rebuilt. Plans are as follows:

Take block to machine shop with 22repreformance specs and get it prepped .040 over
Have crank and rods and pistions all balanced
Assemble short block for all the top end goodies i have been sitting in for 2yrs.

Any input people that have built motors please chim in. Iam after power and durabillity in the build. Im really looking forward to doing this.

So just to be clear no boost. Im willing to spent up to 2k but doing all the build with a friend Vicor and just want power and last a good 200k longer.

call me stupid, but where's nova and whats the smog laws there. there is a lot you can do but at the same time you don't wanna make it unregisterable.

well best bet is to to do the fallowing

supra afm the adjust theeth for thottle respones there all so an air screw as well
    supra throttle body
relocate the afm to the battery side
tri flow header for the 22re with 2.25 exhuast
msd coil (then open the plugs up)
    use copper plugs
replace your ecu temp sensor and ox sensore
    fuel regulator

and most importian a wide band guage so you can tune it with the afm and fuel reglator

as for inside motor a nice cam/ clean up the ports/ high comp pistons/ add a 5 mill shim to the oil pump and a crank scarper

one other thing ya can do is pin the oil holes in the rods (to prevent rod knock at high rpms)

then use a mill and grove your rod this way so you still have some oil jetting to the upper walls for longer ring life

on ya indexing your plugs on 22re helps out alot

    cheers

Old Vicoor should have good knowledge. There's a thread somewhere I left with a ton of info from engnbldr.

*Btw, how is Vicor and his megasquirt setup??*

    Found it.

Vicor is good. He had some top end issues and i gave him my lce head so he could be back on the road. His truck is running real good. He was over at my house just a few minutes agk going over my new block and giving me some input for this build.
