got my alignment today, did the camber and caster, but the toe in is holding us back. the "clamps" or whatever are removable, but the adjusting sleeve itself hasn't moved. firestone attempted with PB blaster and the torch ( I was watching the whole time, my friend did the service) and another guy (from cali, used to have an 89 xcab too!) tried an air chisel to split the sleeve. Nothing really worked. so gents, what's your experience with these? I'm going to attempt breaking her loose with PB blaster and stuff later this week, and once it's apart, im gunna anti sieze it. oh yeah, and we believe the previous alignment shop heated it up before Firestone (heating it makes it more prone to rusting)
Brake fluid mixed with atf soak for awhile. Works great. Also make sure the other people messing with the sleeve didn't crush it onto the threads, impossible to move when that happens
Yeah, typically a pipe wrench and lube works, so someone's really done a number to it if it won't budge with heat.
