So my truck has developed a ticking noise I can't seem to diagnose. So I wanted some advice. I noticed one morning leaving my apartment it sounded like I had a rocker arm tick. As I continued to drive it quieted down, and I assumed that maybe it was just a touch of a dry start. Well the noise has progressed and now doesn't go away. But I have noticed, if I'm rolling up a hill slowly, and I give it more throttle the noise gets louder and less intense, and when I let off, you almost can't hear it. So that leads me to believe I have an injector getting ready to die.. what do you guys think? I did change the oil today to make sure it wasn't just old oil causing it to make that noise.

    What do you guys think?

The fact that for a bit it was there when cold, then gone when hot makes me think that it may be a cracked manifold with subsequent exhaust leak.

I don't think injector. You could go through your valve lash with a feeler guage.but that ticking is almost normal for me I have three Toyotas and they all have their own little tick.Exhaust leak is a possibility. If you still have the heat shield covering you manifold pull that off and look for some black carbon mark marks on the inside of it and it can help you figure out where your leak is.

There's no more heat shield on the truck, but as I'm driving the truck more the noise is getting worse, and beginning to resemble an exhaust leak.. and I'm pretty confident in the valve lash

That is most definitely exhaust leakage. It sounds like it's from one cylinder and from experience, I'd say the rear cylinder. One sure way to check, aside from just tightening all the manifold nuts, is to pull the manifold off and check the gasket for blow by. You'll see the carbon trail exactly where it's leaking.

The other possibility is that if you have the stock manifold, the donut gaskets tend to go bad over time and leak.

The video i took a couple weeks ago and forgot to post up, but the more heat cycles it gets, the more it's sounding like an exhaust leak.

Thinking back, im wondering if it is a cracked manifold though. I hadn't had any issues at all, until i went to wash the engine bay one day, and didn't let it quite cool off. Could i have stressed it enough to break the manifold?

Possibly, but if you think about it, rain gets up there a lot, so if it were as easy as that, Toyota would have changed that design years ago.

But i don't imagine they anticipate people to hose down the engine bay when it's hot?

You are probably correct about that.
