I have a 96 s10 and the first mod I took care of was replacing the ugly tail lights. Why would you put them on something?! Lol. Not sure if I like it or not though. What do you guys think?

Here is what I did to my dime: :waytogo:

Yeah I took a set of trailer lights and bent sheet metal around a peice of tubing, tacked it in, cut off the excess, finished welding it, hammered, and filled. You would think it would be easy since it is so simple looking but it was rediculously difficult. Lol. I like them though. I've only seen it on one other truck but they aren't as low as mine. I might do a variation of this on my yota.

To have that much time and effort into the sheetmetal on that bed and the paint and go with those tails is kinda weird to me but to each his own. Like what you did with your dime even though Im kinda anti dime! Looks good on your truck but that yota is gonna loose style points for those if he is showing competivley

agreed. not that my oppinion is of any concern to the matter, but s-10 tails on a toyota is just wrong. props for thinking outside the box, but read above.

I think he was just going for a different look than anyone else. I'd throw those euros out an find some clear tails. But the paint on the truck is amazing just needs touch ups. The front end is one solid piece ie hood and fenders. There's no wiper cowl and everything comes off in like 6 bolts. Interior is nice as hell too no door handles inside everything looks good.

What exactly is the whole rivalry between dime and yota guys? I have both and I love them both equally ;)

its just that everyone and there grandma's 3rd cousin twice removed has an s-10. they make more parts for an s-10 than any other truck on earth except-you guessed it- th full size chevs. dont get me wrong i had an s-10 and loved it (it took losing it to realize how much i did like it), but i love my toys. yes i've seen plenty of pics of the toy in question to know that its one sick ride.... but the s-10 tails bother me personally. again his truck, goin for something diff, i get that fully, and give mad props for thinkin' far from the norm, still doesnt change the fact that "I" and a few "like me" think its utterly disgusting.... i dug the title on this post and agreed, but couldn't help but think, "why waste thes-10 tails if your doin' something new with the s-10?" so to re-cap i'm only hatin' on the outcome of the tails on the toy, not the idea, nor the person, nor the work that went into it for that matter, and i hope the rest of the "haters" come to feel the same. to ChickenTaco, i hope to see more of your work no matter how much i may dislike what it looks like in the end, cuz from what i can tell it looks clean either way.

Uhh..Thank you? I think? Lmfao. My s10 should be finished in about another month. And in about a couple of weeks I will be starting on my yota build. I do agree, the number of s10's out weight any other mini, but I still like it. It's a reliable little truck and I would like to believe that mine is pretty unique. I have really gone the extra mile with all of the details put into it. Like building out the lip on the bottom of the tail gate (bet you didn't notice) and other things, that will truelly make this truck stand out from a croud. My toyota will be an eye catcher as well I hope. Both will be at the super run in Henderson, Nevada in September. Along with, most likely, my 97 fullsize longbed chevy ;D

Just a recap on what was already discussed, I will be posting pics on this thread of my dime painted within the next couple of weeks. Lowering it tomorrow, and finishing final blocking this weekend and it will be ready for paint. Pretty siked to start work on my Toy. But money has been the draw back for the finalization of my s10.
