ok im wanting to lay her out (or close to it). so any input would be helpful. ive had a bagged s10 before and i did the front but if u know anything u know that s10's are basically bolt on, and i let a place do the rear so im kinda blind when it comes to bagging it. i think it was twisted minis that said 78 were an easy year to lay to the doors without bodydroppin.

I said they aren't hard to bag, but they are hard to lay in the front. You have to get pretty creative with the lower arms. They should also be Z'd.

And I said they will lay body if you bag them. But you need a 3" bodydrop to lay door and bed.

Anywhere. You're going to be making almost everything yourself, so it doesn't make much of a difference.

i was hoping there would be a universal control arm kit or something, but the only thing i can find are aftermarket mustangII assemblies , but at like 2500.00. So, any one know of a place to buy the brackets to like S10 arms or something with a huge aftermarket to rely on?
    thanks, Ben

You won't be able to adapt different control arms to your existign setup. You either need to build tube arms, modify the stocks ones, or swap to a different front suspension all together.

I was told that late model control arms, spindles etc (89-96) fit straight on, so you can then fit drop spindles.
    I could be wrong....

Why dontcha head over to Seth's site and see what services he offers. He can build your arms for you, hes though it, built it, assembled it. Bolt on parts are one thing but it takes a master tradesman to build it right and a novice to assemble. I thumbed 100's of posts and pictures of his work and he IS the real deal. I know hes not the only one, but, he does have the proof ( his 1980 twisted mini ) to back it up, along with other projects and recommendations from many people. Plus it doesnt hurt to inquire on pricing to get the parts modified to fit your needs. . .

Not on the pre 78 trucks. The suspension is completely different.

On the 79-83 trucks the 84-95 suspension parts do bolt up. The control arms are every so slightly longer. If you want drop spindles, the easiest way is to just buy yourself the spindle, go to a junk yard and get 84-95 hubs, calipers, and rotors. You can buy the rotors new too, which is what I normally do. Then all you need to do is press the studs out of the lower balljoint, turn it over so it points up, and bolt your new drop spindles on. Then it doesn't widen your track width.

im with seth on this, but i have noticed on my arms they have a bit of a dimple. it looks like it might need to be cut out and flipped. i havent torn it down that far. id second using later brakes and spindles anyways. the 78 brakes are crap. tiny pad and a solid rotor. very lame.
