Thinking of selling my 86 toyota pickup.
Have owned it since 2010 it has about 150,000 miles on it 22r with a 4 speed. it's the base model with cargo bed.
the frame is really decent, but it needs new front suspension because the control arms are rusted out. i have most of the parts to rebuild the suspension, 4 control arms, poly bushing kit, ball joints, etc.
it also needs new exhaust from the cat back.
tires are over 12 yrs old, truck rides on 16" lincoln wheels.
it has the cargo bed, it has rust holes.
the cab needs rocker panels replaced.
i have two brand new fenders for the truck and a used rust free cargo tailgate.
i have the original 14" wheels but at least one has a pinhole in it.
floors and front cab mounts were repaired 10 yrs ago and the repairs are still holding up well. it does need some work on the rear cab mounts now.
engine was gone over about 20,000 mi ago, it got a new head and a rv cam and a new timing set, etc.
has a fiberglass cap and a bed liner.
have the parts to install air conditioning, installed the evaporator and the compressor bracket, that's as far as i got.
it's got a decent stereo system too, has a small sub.
olds minivan captains chairs, they are very comfortable.

Part it out. Too much labor involved to make road worthy.

Im going to also suggest parting it out or selling it just to get it off your hands. Sounds like way too much rust

Ok the pictures make it look better than the original description. Personally i wouldnt pay more than 1500 for the truck in that condition

Rust (especially the frame) is my biggest concern. I’ve never heard of a lower control arm “rusting through”.
I suspect this vehicle may have been flooded out at one time.
    Good luck with your sale.

The frame is fine. it's the best part of the truck.
i see you live in north carolina. i live in the rust belt. These trucks turned to dust here 20 years ago.
the rocker panels and the cab corners and the bed need work. i replaced the floors and part of the front cab mount structure 11 years ago when i bought the truck.

person that owned the truck before me did not keep it clean. dirt built up in the control arms and they started to rust.....common problem here. all the parts to rebuild the suspension come with the truck.
I'm getting hundreds of messages about the truck.

Pictures always settle the score. I didn't see any of the undercarriage on fb add either. Js. Because if it's not as bad as you say, id say it's worth you're asking price of 2k w/parts. Other then the control arms, what comes included will help your sale.

Hundreds of messages yet no one has bought it lol.

no offense but this is why i hate seeing "whats my truck worth" or "testing the waters" because when opinions and facts are stated the owners get offended or want to hear it.

I would of took the 1500 that the one guy offered on Facebook. You have over 10 years into it qnd most of what you've done is gather parts and let it rust. This is one of those hard pills to swallow that replacement parts do not increase value of your vehicle. 2000 dollars is getting close to what I would pay for a pretty clean one on the west coast.
