ok I thot my temp gauge was broken for the longest until I drove it for a couple hundred miles with the AC on. It is always at the bottom. and for the speedo, take your dash off and make sure its connected... its a cable not electric

that or get under your truck and locate the cable mounted on the tranny on the passenger side. once you found it take it out and make sure the key lock is in the right position going in. if thats not your problem look behind your dash like what TITAN said. if that still aint your problem then you need to replace the gear thing on the tranny. (forgot what its called) just look at it un screw the cable and there will be a 10mm or 12mm (forgot) bolt once you take that out you can take out the whole unit and try getting a new one at your local parts store. KEEP in MIND once you take that unit out you WILL LEAK TRANNY FLUID!!!!

There's a inner cable that can be broken,so just seeing it plugged in doesn't mean it's ok.

Here's a simple way to check.

    Disconnect cable at trans.
Put the inner cable end in a portable drill.
Turn on gradually in REVERSE while somone observes speedo.
