As many of you know Ive been on the bed hunt for my bagged suicided Yota. Kinda stumbled across a 1st gen Tacoma stepside thats totalled in the front, bed mounts dont matter, doing a raised wood floor. Just seeing how close outside dimensions, wheelwells etc are. Also are bedsides metal on those? And has anyone seen a truck laid out with this bed, wonder if Id be limited on wheel size...

I can try to poke through that site, Im on vacation and all I have is my phone so it might not work. I think it would fit my old school theme, raised wood bed floor to cover my notch and air ride. shaved up... 59 caddy lights in the gate. If someone can get exact dimensions wheel well locations etc. that would be awesome, this truck I found is local here on vacation...

I will overlay a few images together on my computer and see what equivalent height points you would be limited to. Which would effect the overall height you can run laid out. I'll post something up if it comes out clearly. I have seen taco regular beds on 89-95s and he narrowed it a couple inches. so you may need to do the same. but if its getting a custom floor thats pretty simple at that point. Just narrow the tailgate skin and rollpan a little.

i was mainly worried about width and wheel well placement. Ive seen stepside Tacos laid out on 17s, so I think the 18s im planning on for mine should be fine. Also do they make rollpans etc for stepsides? Didnt find anything stepside specific on grants website.

Thanks for that I will search around on streetsource when I get back into town. I had actually looked at a reg. taco bed before, know there was alot of body line tweaking when I was measuring, that bed fell through though.

Now Im back to confused, According to the Toyota reference site width measurments are the same, Now according to customtacos forum, You cant bag and lay a stepside taco without swapping in a pre-taco rear end, which of course I already have. It just doesnt make sense, Now that Im home, Its a 2 1/2 hour trip to go down there and measure this bed, And since I have found 2 stock beds within 2 hours as well, But I really think the stepside would be a cool twist

Its probably just because the stepside guys want to pull the tires inboard to go into the sides a bit higher. but i still wanna see it. do it.

Well I just texted my friend again and hopefully the shop next to his work where the truck is, is open tomorrow so he can get me the info. Im planning on getting it, Even if I part it out its worth it in the long run. Still cant find pics of one of these beds shaved up. Havent found any roll pans step shavers etc?
