......just finished dropping out the old busted "G" series tranny, upgrading to a "W" series trans from a 94 toyota pickup.
will be putting in the "W" tranny tomorrow due to rain (sucks working outside in the elements), but it's all good!
went ahead and installed new flywheel, new pilot bearing, new clutch assembly and throughout bearing and even a new fork.
filling the trans with some nice synthetic fluid, so i'm hoping for some buttery smooth shifting lol.

pics will be uploaded this weekend

i thought i had a G series, apparently someone who owned the truck before me installed a W50 (aluminum bellhousing, iron casing, aluminum tail). so i was able to use the axisting crossmember bracket and mount.
i did have to locate a bellhousing as the one i had was for a 3.0, but i found one at local shop for $25. so now it is in the truck, topped off with some mobil gearlube and have logged nearly 1000 miles on it. shifts buttery smoooooooth!

was averaging a smooth 38mpg before the swap, averaging a solid 34mpg as of now....

i just finished the w swap in my 86 turbo pickup from an a/t. waiting on my driveshaft arriving tomorrow. question, trans is from a 94, has electronic speedo hook up, mines cable. 94 has larger speedo bullit. what did you use to convert to cable speedo on trans or did it already have cable? this 94 is bigger in diameter than your original one?

i ran into the same problem and i have been using a cheap gps as my speedo lol
i am currently looking for a speedo assembly out of an '80's celica/supra with W sereies trans so thati can take one of those out and have a factory working speedo.
