Anyone have any suggestions as to which mirrors I could use to replace my stock mirrors with?

Ideally I'd like to keep it in the Toyota family, and needless to say something less obtrusive than my originals, yet not too obvious that it doesn't belong on my truck.

    Year, make, and model?

    Thanks.

    Hey....

...you're right they do look pretty nice. Not Toyota, but I think they'll do. Can't beat the price, too.

    Thanks.

no problem, i have a 66 mustang, and had a few lying around the garage. one night we got to thinkin of mirrors and those were the closest things around. for the rearview i'm planning either the 66 or the 67 mirror. probably the 67 since i have a brand new one floating around the garage for the last 5 years.

I'd love to go without them, fill the holes and call it a day, but I think out here in California the cops will try and find any excuse to pull you over. Especially now with the City budget so tight. They have to find anyway possible to give us a ticket.

Though I'm not 100% sure if it's illegal to run around without at least a driver's side mirror. But until I see it in print I'd rather not risk it. Any ticket could have been better spent on gas or Rustoleum! :)

Anyhow, the Stang ones look cool. I wish there were Toyota ones that I could swap out that would be just as nice. I think I'll stop by the PNP this week and see what I could find.

Anyhow, thanks for all the responses to my initial post.

in arizona they require 1 mirror, the rear view. if your rear window is tinted then you have to have a side mirror.

    Harley mirrors.

    :) That's a good idea. Kinda funky actually (in a good way). I likes - a lot.

I'm planning to go with the simple primer - Coker white wall look anyhow, so mirrors of that nature might actually work.

Maybe. :) Might look better on one of those rides sanded down to the metal, etched, and cleared without any paint whatsoever. That MAD MAX look - which I actually LOVE. But can't figure out what clear would protect the metal enough so it won't rust. Hmmmm. :)

    Great idea nonetheless.

Heres the code and the website taken from . . .

Wow - California laws are strict . .

26709. (a) Every motor vehicle registered in a foreign jurisdiction

of the highway for a distance of at least 200 feet to the rear of
    such vehicle.
Every motor vehicle subject to registration in this state, except
a motorcycle, shall be equipped with not less than two such mirrors,

of at least 200 feet to the rear of such vehicle:
    (1) A motor vehicle so constructed or loaded as to obstruct the
    driver's view to the rear.
    (2) A motor vehicle towing a vehicle and the towed vehicle or load
thereon obstructs the driver's view to the rear.
    (3) A bus or trolley coach.
    (c) The provisions of subdivision (b) shall not apply to a

Try Mooneye's. They have a cool selection of oldschool mirrors.

I bought a set of the GT001 for my old corolla and they look great. I would have liked to put them on the truck but they are too small. It was hard to mount them in a position that made them useful and look good at the same time.

I just bought these off ebay for my 87 truck.

They used to be hot in the 80's. I really like these because the mirror glass adjusts while the housing is stationary. I'm sick of accidently bumping the mirrors out of adjustment. I think they will look good on the truck.

If not, I'm going with these motorcycle mirrors.

The ones you got off eBay, what year make and model car were those for? Those look great!

Just looked at my truck this morning during my first cup of coffee...realized in her present state throwing on some Harley mirrors would look out of place. She's still too stock, so some nice simple black mirrors would be a better fit.

I like the adjustable mirrors with the stationary base, too. :) Thanks YOTARIP

They are the Turbo (NOT baby turbo) mirrors by Vitaloni. The Turbo mirrors have a taller pedestal type mount ( see the pic) that I think will work well on the truck.
The baby turbo are the standard short universal mirrors. They go from $50 - $125 for a pair. Search Vitaloni mirrors on ebay. There is a guy selling 6 PAIRS!!!! for 138 shipped right now.

    Nice!

Have you thrown yours on, yet? Pics?

The Moonies are a great idea, too.

I guess a lot of it really has to go with what LOOK your truck will ultimately end up with. Flat black paint with Coker white walls, might be a better fit with some old school chromes.

I really like those Moon Equipped late 70's El Camino mirrors.

At least now I have a better idea where, what, and how much.

Thanks, again, everyone - for sharing all the info.

I haven't received the mirrors yet but I'll post them up as soon as I get them.

You are right, flat black ( I prefer semiflat or satin black) with hints of chrome like mirrors door handles and bumpers look great.
